IRS2092 2x500W/1000W BTL

I'm orienting on some designs for a 2 x 500W (@4ohm) / 1000W BTL (@8 ohm, full bridge) design with around ±80-90Vdc power supply voltage.

I really like the "simplicity" of the IRS2092

However, I was wondering if this driver can be used to load around 2 x 500W/1000W by default, or do I need an extra MOSFET driver, like the TC4420 (or a bjt pair)?

tho the IRS2092 is indeed simple, there's very few tested design using the chip in the diy community. most design available seem to prefer IR2110 to the IRS2092

Yes, but is the extra MOSFET buffer needed?
depends on whether you're thinking of drawing continuous 1000w from them or not. if just pulses of signal for subwoofer usage then probably you won't need the extra pair.

just asking what you're gonna use them for? 1000W is nowhere small as it is. not a lot of drivers could sustain 500w continuous, let along 1000w. risk of burning the voice coil is very high at that much power.
i'm running a couple of 15" dual voice coil (purpose built drivers) as my home theater sub and even though the voice coil are rated for 850w continuous with 7 cm peak-to-peak excursion limit, i'm bottoming them easily with only ~600w of power.

and that's in a sealed enclosure.

Well, I am aiming for 1000W RMS sinus power, just to be sure I have enough overhead.
The applications will be different, some subwoofers or line arrays etc, sound reinforcement applications.
Or needed for a two-way system with 2 x 500W.

I am aware of the fact that it is maybe a little overpowered, but it is just some extra overhead when needed.
(and it will fit on standard 2x80-90V power supplies)

But if I understand it well, 2x500W @ 4ohm (or 1000W @8ohm BTL) needs two pair of MOSFETS?

Is there a real benefit to use the TC4420 instead of twp NPN/PNP pairs?

If you use two pairs of IRFB4227 you will definitely need TC4420 to drive them.

I think I will use the IRFB4332, but that doesn't really matter.
How can you calculate/estimate the driving current?
That's not 100% clear to me at the moment.

i have ten of this ic,hope some provide working pcb, i don't want to fry them, as is not avialable at local market.

I attemp to make this amp. pls advice my board, all dioda are uf4007. i will use FDA or irfb4227 one pair. hope this mosfet can give around 600W/4ohm.

You will need at least a 50 volt supply into 4 ohms.
I use a pair of irfb4227's in my 500 watt amp and it works very well.

i have 60Vdc halfbrigde sg3525+ir2110+ixfh30n60+ETD54 smps and i will used it. but somehow this smps make my AX-14 lose the stage. another is uc3845 2switch foward +-45Vdc that works great with AX-14. any sugestion to improve my irs2092??
