Regarding the diode, you are right, its 1N5401 or 1N5408

those two connections are the input of the amplifier

FJA are better a littel than 2SA 2SC, but 2SA 2SC is robust also, you can use them

hi microsim,
see the below image.
what is that part.?

Thats the thermal switch, to be mounted on heatsink. Normally closed

You can short it for testing.

Double check every thing before powering up.

Have you made PCB yet?

It looks similar to the one in the picture below!

When its cold, its shorted.

When reaches 100C it opens.

You will have to attach it to the heat sink when you success into your amplifier!

Good Luck!

thanks microsim,
is this thermal switches has plus minus sides and what value should i buy.

No polarity for these switches.

you can buy 80C value, withc I think its good for Amplifier.

You can leave it until you finish the amplifier.

Hi all ,
nice amplifier but seams to be one error (shorted + rail with ground ) like in attached pic.

I am not sure about your problem, but some general check out will be very help full.

check transistors position, test them and make sure they are working, check soldering. This amplifier is very simple.

Tell me more information, like the protection circuit working or not, upload a video of turn on sequence + if you can record the noise in the video to hear it.

I will try to figure the problem from your information's
