First, thanks to all , gurus and others to share their knowledge. Really interesting stuff in this website :UP::UP:
Project: General purpose power supply - smps of course, as linear ones have really bad efficiency, toasters than supplies !!!! -
Range: 10 > 40 -50 V
Power: I need 20 A , not peak but continuous .
This power supply will be used ,firstly to test 12 or 24 V stuff, for a friend of mine, than for personal use.
I have already chosen ETD49 core, but after googling and reading and reading a lot, i have of course, many questions:
- Topology chosen: full bridge What value of duty cycle allowed? 0 to 50 % maxi or full range too?
- Litz wire: is the following wire good for winding, I'm in doubt because i have read temperature of about 70°C.

For such high current need surely, - if proper use - , to wind 4 or 5 wires together?
- Is it mandatory using low ESR capacitors for:
- input stage rectifier - from 220 VAC to 311 DC rectified
- output stage:
Have you a good ESR meter, kits or personal homemade stuff?
- Last question:
- I have already built power card for am and volt meter for this supply, can i '' stack '' it over the main card of this smps?
No concern about EMI or others?
It is a long long post, but i like learning and this site is what i have searching for a long while.
