SG3525 Current Regulation

I added to my design, what I think will work for current regulation but I am not sure it will work, my idea is to make a current transformer that will go around one of the output wires of the full bridge, rectify the output of the current transformer and feed it though a voltage divider which will be calibrated based on readings from a clamp multimeter, but I am unsure of how to feed this output into the sg3525, my guess would be using the built in error amp so that if the current starts to rise once it reaches its limit the sg3525 will decrease the duty cycle to lower the current, but I am having a hard time understanding how exactly the inputs work, and what do Vref and compensation pins do? I understand with the error amp that if one falls below the other or one rises above the other the duty cycle is adjusted, but that is the extent of my knowledge on that
